I first went to Sedona with my family as a teenager. I loved it then when I was sixteen and I love it now at the age of…ah, lets skip that…There’s natural beauty here everywhere. It’s hard not to see it. It makes you feel you want to do something to preserve it – or should I say ‘save it’?

If not, click here! I’d like to spin Arnold Schwarzenegger’s ‘two sealed room’-question a little further. I think it’s pretty clear what everybody would answer. It’s the sealed room with the running electric car you want to be locked in for an hour, not the one with the running gas car – unless you’re suicidal. Wait a minute, now, isn’t our earth and atmosphere kind of like a sealed room, too?! And we’re choosing the room with the running gas cars? Are we all suicidal?!

Such a classic example of having frogs boil to death in a pot of water because they won’t jump out when the water heats up slowly. Yep, that’s us! That’s where we’re headed, if we don’t change our ways. Signs are great, though, that we reached a turning point – not a burning point… We are slightly more intelligent than frogs after all, aren’t we?! So, please spread the word, lets get more and more people on board to preserve/safe this earth, choose sustainable forms of energy and transportation. Car industry not doing enough, not fast enough? Tell them! Politicians too wishy washy in their decisions? Tell them! Email addresses are easily available on the web. Join an environmental group, become a volunteer! Or simply just like and share this post. Thank you, in the name of all of us!

Last time we were there, we were at a resort that had no EV chargers, but they were very cooperative and allowed me to park and use the 120V/15A plug at … wait for it … where their electric golf carts charged!! I have a picture somewhere of the irony.

Would love to see that picture! Got offered a 120V outlet at the hotel we had booked over the phone (they promised us they had an EV charger), politely declined when we saw it and stayed at a hotel with a Tesla and SunCountry charger.

Brings back memories as we were there 3 years ago and did a 4 mile hike. Spectacular views at every corner.

Wish we had had time for a 4 mile hike! Instead, we spent 3 hours to shoot a 2 minute video clip – which will probably be down to 1 minute after editing 😉

Na, unser eigentlicher Trip beginnt ja erst im Juni. Und da nehmen wir uns dann tatsächlich viel Zeit. Ich freue mich schon, die mir noch unbekannten Teile von Kanada zu sehen. Bisher haben wir ja “nur” Britisch Kolumbien, Nordwest Territorien und Yukon erlebt. Und nur ein kleines bisschen von Alberta.

Ja, es war ein schöner Ort dort in Sedona. Wir waren dort mit unserem Wohnmobil, auf dem Weg zum Grand Canyon. Es war in den 80er Jahren, genaues sag ich nicht, denn dann weiß jeder wie alt du bist. Du warst damals übrigens 17!
Staune übrigens, dass du dich so gut erinnern kannst. Besonders erinnere ich mich an die Kirche, hoch über dem Ort. Modern, hell, mit leiser Musik und ganz oben im Dach sangen die Vögel. Den Ort selbst habe ich noch als sauber und ordentlich in Erinnerung. Ein Ort für Rentner. Danke für die Bilder.

Weisst Du, in meinem Alter kann man sich nicht mehr so gut daran erinnern, wie alt man vor … Jahren war … 😉 Vögel waren diesmal nicht unterm Dach, das hat mir gefehlt, aber die leise Musik hat wieder zum besonderen Erlebnis beigetragen. Soso, sauber und ordentlich markiert also einen Ort für Rentner…gut zu wissen 😉

Intelligenter? …. Wohl nicht! Die Frösche sitzen wie die Menschen im Topf und lassen sich lieber kochen statt rauszuspringen (= etwas gegen die Hitze zu tun). – alle blöd miteinander!
